 ReStore Cashier

Reports to:                         ReStore Assistant Manager

Employment Status:       Part-time (non-exempt)

Hours:                                30 hrs/week (approx)

Responsibilities

·         Primary cashier responsible for cash register operations.

·         Process donor requests, schedule pick-ups and map out routes.

·         Assist manager with pricing donated items, utilizing general knowledge and on-line research.

·         Provide customer service on the sales floor.

·         Ability to take initiative with duties and ensure customers have an excellent experience.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

·         Self-motivated, reliable individual with enthusiasm for Habitat for Humanity's Mission.

·         Enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.

·         Ability to handle and diffuse challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, as well as maintain confidentiality when the situation dictates.

·         Excellent communication skills.

·         Computer skills to include: Microsoft Word and internet applications.

·         Commitment to safe working environment.

·         Enthusiasm to learn new skills.

·         Prior retail experience required.

·         High School Diploma or equivalent required.

·         Five years work experience as cashier preferred.

·         Familiarization with building materials preferred.

SCHEDULE

This position will average 20 hours per week. The general schedule is Wednesday-Saturday,   9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Store operations may dictate adjustments to this basic schedule and hours.
