Ways to Donate

Habitat relies on support from individual, business, as well as foundation partners, lending your financial support directly results in the opportunity for low-income families to realize their dream of homeownership. As we continue in our mission to create a decent place to live for every Washington County resident, your continued support is appreciated.

Tax Credits Available

Habitat for Humanity of Washington County has been awarded Community Investment Tax Credits (CITCs) from the State of Maryland. This means that individuals and businesses may be eligible to receive 50% of their donation back through a Maryland state tax credit in addition to any standard federal and state tax deduction for the donation. All donations raised through Habitat’s participation in the CITC program support new home construction in the McCleary Hill Development. The CITC Program supports Habitat for Humanity of Washington County by offering a Maryland tax credit incentive to individuals and Maryland based businesses making a qualifying donation of $500 or more. These tax credits will be given on a first-come, first-served basis until the entirety of the $45,000 has been distributed.
