ReStore Driver/Warehouse Support

PRIMARY ROLE: ReStore Truck Driver/Warehouse Support. 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time

HOURLY RATE: Commensurate with Experience

SCHEDULE: Tuesday – Friday (Daytime hours); Average 25-30 hrs/week | Saturdays (as needed)

REPORTS TO:  Warehouse Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Driving 

  • Drive to and from donation pickups at residences and businesses 

  • Positively represent Habitat for Humanity when dealing with donors and public 

  • Appreciatively receive donations 

  • Screen all donations for product condition, politely accepting good quality merchandise and denying items in poor condition that are not accepted at ReStore 

  • Partner to safely team lift, carry and carefully pack all donations into the truck 

  • Help to unload truck when return to ReStore and move to designated area for processing 

  • Coordinate with management team for weekly pickup schedule 

  • Communicate any truck maintenance issues promptly to Warehouse Manager  

Warehouse 

  • Help with sorting, processing and assembling product in the warehouse when not out on pickups 

  • Maintain cooperative and positive working relationships with ReStore staff, volunteers, donors and customers 

  • Assist with keeping the warehouse clean and safe 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Respect, understanding and support of Habitat for Humanity’s mission 

  • Experience driving a commercial vehicle or box truck (required) 

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record (required) 

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment (preferred) 

  • Mechanical aptitude (preferred) 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – inclusive, welcoming and engaging well with people 

  • Quick decision-making and problem-solving 

  • Good time management 

  • Ability to lift, walk, climb up and down stairs and loading ramps 

  • Ability to stand on concrete floors, bend, kneel and reach in awkward positions.  This is a physically demanding position that requires strength and stamina to perform daily tasks. 

  • Using support tools, lifts and equipment, be able to work with co-workers to cooperatively team lift and load furniture, appliances and building materials 

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
